OnePlus Confirms Oxygen OS Beta 1 for OnePlus 6 Users Based on Android 9.0 Pie


Oxygen OS Beta 1 based on Android 9.0 Pie is now being rolled out for all the OnePlus 6 users. This was officially announced on their blog yesterday. If you have a OnePlus 6 device and would like to test the same feel free to do so.

    • New Android P gesture navigation
    • Other new features and system improvements
  • Integrated OnePlus customization features
    • Supported accent colour customization
    • New Do Not Disturb mode with adjustable settings
    • New Gaming Mode 3.0
      • Added text notification mode
      • Added notification for 3rd party calls

Since this is the very first beta version of Android 9.0 it’s not going to be stable at all. This ROM should not be considered as a daily driver since it might be full of bugs.

Known Issues

  • Some applications may not function as expected when running on this beta version
  • Google Pay service is not working
  • Google Play Store might show “Device is not Certified by Google”

If you still want to go ahead and install this version on your OnePlus 6 device please do follow the detailed instructions mentioned on their official forums page strictly to avoid any uncertainties.

We can also expect the same for other OnePlus devices like the OnePlus 5/5T, One Plus 3/3T in a short while. For OnePlus 3/3T this would be the last official update from the company.
