After successfully launching 8 flagship smartphones and an operating system, the company looks ahead to conquer the smart television industry as well. We recently saw the launch of OnePlus 6 with some amazing specs and top notch quality build. OnePlus 6T is also due in October and a lot has been surfacing these days about the 6T launch.
CEO Pete Lau on the forums page announced their idea of launching the OnePlus TV.
For most of us, there are four major environments we experience each day: the home, the workplace, the commute, and being on-the-move. The home – perhaps the most important environment experience – is just starting to enjoy the benefits of intelligent connectivity.
We want to bring the home environment to the next level of intelligent connectivity. To do this, we are building a new product of OnePlus’ premium flagship design, image quality, and audio experience to more seamlessly connect the home.
We call it: OnePlus TV.
We believe your TV has the potential to be so much more than where you watch your favorite shows.
Nothing is sure as of now since nothing has been disclosed on the forum. But we assume the TV to run a tweaked version of Oxygen OS for the smart TV. CEO Pete Lau also mentioned how their constant exploration of how technology can change human life based on simplicity, efficiency, and intellectual functioning.
He also mentioned how over the next 5 years 5G and AI shall change the life of an individual.
A contest is going on at the OnePlus’s forum where the TV product manager Stephen L is asking people to name the OnePlus TV. Make sure you give it a try.
