The much awaited Operating system Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal is the most advanced operating systems by Linux so far. Though Windows may be the first choice among many but Linux is also not so far behind in terms of looks and functionality. The article today will let you know some major things that you have to take care once you are done installing it on your Hard Disk.

1) Switch to Ubuntu Gnome Classic - It happens many times that you don't like the Unity version installed or sometimes your hardware do not support the function to work properly. In that case you can switch back to the 2D support by running some commands on the terminal.

Open the Terminal and run the following commands :
sudo apt- get update
sudo apt- get install unity -2d

2) Update or Upgrade - May be you have installed the latest version of Ubuntu available but that wont mean that you have all the updates to the software's bundled. To fix this up get to the terminal and run the following command.
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
3)Ubuntu Tweak-Ubuntu is incomplete without installing the software Ubuntu tweak. 
It helps you to tweak ubuntu the way you like. Using Ubuntu Tweak you can install all needed applications with a simple click, you can change the window buttons from Left to right etc.
To install the software open the terminal and run the following commands :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tualatrix/ppa 
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-tweak
4)Install Windows Games and Applications - Finally a good solution that will help you to install windows games and application to Ubuntu 11.04. 
Playonlinux a piece of sofware which allows you to easily install and use numerous games and software's designed to run with Microsoft®'s Windows®.You can install many windows games like call of duty, doom ,.... Msfonts ,Itune ,Microsoft office 2007.
Run the following command to install it on the system.
sudo apt-get install playonlinux 
5)Useful Back up tool for Ubuntu - Deja Dup is a simple backup tool. It hides the complexity of doing backups the 'right way' (encrypted, off-site, and regular) and uses duplicity as the back end. Follow the command to install it on your system.
